يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُقَدِّمُواْ بَيۡنَ يَدَيِ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ

You who believe! Do not be forward before God and His messenger, but guard (yourselves) against God. Surely God is hearing, knowing.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَرۡفَعُوٓاْ أَصۡوَٰتَكُمۡ فَوۡقَ صَوۡتِ ٱلنَّبِيِّ وَلَا تَجۡهَرُواْ لَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ كَجَهۡرِ بَعۡضِكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ أَن تَحۡبَطَ أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَشۡعُرُونَ

You who believe! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the prophet, and do not be loud in (your) speech to him, like the loudness of some of you to others, or your deeds will come to nothing without your realizing (it).

Theological Defect

This verse equates a simple breach of social etiquette—speaking loudly around Muhammad—with the total, retroactive nullification of one's lifelong righteous deeds. This depicts God as arbitrary and hyper-vindictive, prioritizing a human prophet's personal comfort over objective moral justice.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصۡوَٰتَهُمۡ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱمۡتَحَنَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمۡ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٌ

Surely those who lower their voices in the presence of the messenger of God, those are the ones whose hearts God has tested for the guarding (of themselves). For them (there is) forgiveness and a great reward.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ ٱلۡحُجُرَٰتِ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ

Surely those who call out to you from behind the private rooms – most of them do not understand.

وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ صَبَرُواْ حَتَّىٰ تَخۡرُجَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ لَكَانَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

If they were patient, until you come out to them, it would indeed be better for them. Yet God is forgiving, compassionate.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِن جَآءَكُمۡ فَاسِقُۢ بِنَبَإٖ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْ أَن تُصِيبُواْ قَوۡمَۢا بِجَهَٰلَةٖ فَتُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلۡتُمۡ نَٰدِمِينَ

You who believe! If a wicked person brings you some (piece of) news, be discerning, or you will smite a people in ignorance, and then become regretful over what you have done.

The placement of the diacritical dots on the identical skeletal text (rasm) changes the word from 'fatabayyanū' (to be discerning/investigate, from the root b-y-n) to 'fatathabbatū' (to ascertain/verify, from the root th-b-t), giving a slightly different nuance to the command.

وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ فِيكُمۡ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِۚ لَوۡ يُطِيعُكُمۡ فِي كَثِيرٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ لَعَنِتُّمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ وَٱلۡفُسُوقَ وَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلرَّـٰشِدُونَ

Know that the messenger of God is among you. If he obeyed you in much of the affair, you would indeed be in distress. But God has made belief dear to you, and made it appear enticing in your hearts, and made disbelief and wickedness and disobedience hateful to you. Those – they are the right-minded.

فَضۡلٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَنِعۡمَةٗۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ

Favor from God and a blessing! God is knowing, wise.

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ فَأَصۡلِحُواْ بَيۡنَهُمَاۖ فَإِنۢ بَغَتۡ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا عَلَى ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ فَقَٰتِلُواْ ٱلَّتِي تَبۡغِي حَتَّىٰ تَفِيٓءَ إِلَىٰٓ أَمۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن فَآءَتۡ فَأَصۡلِحُواْ بَيۡنَهُمَا بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَأَقۡسِطُوٓاْۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ

If two contingents of the believers fight, set (things) right between them, and if one of them oppresses the other, fight the one which oppresses until it returns to the command of God. If it returns, set (things) right between them with justice, and act fairly. Surely God loves the ones who act fairly.

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ إِخۡوَةٞ فَأَصۡلِحُواْ بَيۡنَ أَخَوَيۡكُمۡۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ

Only the believers are brothers, so set (things) right between your two brothers, and guard (yourselves) against God, so that you may receive mercy.

Promotes Division & Discrimination

By proclaiming that 'only the believers are brothers,' this verse categorically restricts human fraternity and solidarity to the Muslim ingroup. This explicitly establishes a tribalistic boundary that denies non-Muslims equal status and shared brotherhood.
