Surah 5:97
"God has made the Ka‘ba – the Sacred House – an establishment for the people, and (also) the sacred month, the offering, and the ornaments. That is so that you may know that God knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and that God has knowledge of everything."
5.97 – God has made the Ka‘ba – the Sacred House – an establishment for the people
The Ka‘ba is only mentioned twice in the Quran, both times in this sūra (also in v. 95). However, this verse seems to associate the Ka‘ba explicitly with “the Sacred House” (al-bayta ’l-ḥarām), an expression that also appears in a slightly different form at 14.37. See the comment on “the House” at 2.124.
