50.20 – There will be a blast on the trumpet: “That is the Day of Promise”

The trumpet blast begins an extended judgment scene (vv. 20–34) in which the two angels of verse 17 throw their human into Gehenna (v. 24), and the god-fearing enter the Garden in peace (v. 34). The Judgment Day is called here both the Day of Promise (yawm al-wa‘īd, v. 20) and the Day of Eternity (yawm al-khulūd, v. 34).
