"Surely those who oppose God and His messenger have been disgraced, as those before them were disgraced. We have already sent down clear signs – and for the disbelievers (there will be) a humiliating punishment,"

– Surely those who oppose God and His messenger have been disgraced
Muslims believe that Sūra 58 was first recited in Medina, and like others in this category it frequently associates Allah with his messenger. This sūra holds the two together for trust (v. 4) and obedience (v. 13). It repeatedly exhorts the audience not to oppose them (vv. 5, 20, 22). Here the two also conquer together (v. 21).
