The sūra ends with a striking statement about Allah (vv. 22–24) that proclaims him to be “the Peace” (al-salām, v. 23).
The placement of “Peace” to describe Allah, following verses in which Allah expels people, casts terror into hearts (v. 2), and is “harsh in retribution” (v. 7), alongside being a compeller or “Sole Ruler” ( jabbār, lit. “tyrant,” v. 23), makes for an interesting theological reflection.
