Surah 60:10
"You who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them – God knows their belief – and if you know them to be believers, do not return them to the disbelievers. They are not permitted to them, nor are they are permitted to them. Give them what they have spent. (There is) no blame on you if marry them, when you have given them their marriage gifts. Do not hold to ties with disbelieving women, but ask (back) what you have spent, and let them ask (back) what they have spent. That is the judgment of God. He judges between you, and God is knowing, wise."
60.10 – You who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants
The lack of names and places in this sūra makes it impossible to make sense of verses 10–12. In Muslim tradition, however, these verses are linked with women who came from Mecca to join the Muslims in Medina during the treaty of Ḥudaybiyya (Raids, 311).
