68.2 – You are not, by the blessing of your Lord, possessed

The opening verses of the sūra encourage the messenger and instruct him in how to handle those who reject his preaching (vv. 2–16). “Possessed” translates the Arabic majnūn, which implies possession by jinn (also v. 51).
