Verse 63

Are you amazed that a reminder has come to you from your Lord by means of a (mere) man from among you, so that he may warn you, and that you may guard (yourselves), and that you may receive compassion?’

Verse 64

Quoted Scripture
""and that you may receive (His) mercy.""

Allah said,

{But they belied him} but they insisted on rejecting and opposing him, and only a few of them believed in him, as Allah stated in another Ayah. Allah said next,

{So We saved him and those along with him in the Fulk} the ark,

Quoted Scripture
"And We drowned those who belied Our Ayat."

Allah said in another Ayah,

Because of their sins they were drowned, then they were admitted into the Fire. And they found none to help them instead of Allah.

Allah said,

{They were indeed a blind people.} meaning, blind from the Truth, unable to recognize it or find their way to it. Here, Allah said that He has taken revenge from His enemies and saved His

Universal Sunni Consensus: Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim by Hafiz Ibn Kathir (701–774 AH / 1301–1373 AD) is universally regarded across all major schools of Sunni Islam (traditional, Salafi, Ash'ari) as the most authoritative classical exegesis. It is prized because it relies on Tafsir bil-Ma'thur—interpreting the Quran using the Quran itself, authentic Hadiths of Prophet Muhammad, and recorded statements of the early Companions (Sahabah).
