The Only Response of Lot's People
Supporting Verses
Surah 27:56 → "The only response of his people was that they said, ‘Expel the house(hold) of Lot from your town, (for) surely they are men who keep themselves clean.’"
Opposing Verses
Surah 29:29 → "Do you indeed approach men, and cut off the way, and commit wrong in your meeting?’ But the only response of his people was that they said, ‘Bring us the punishment of God, if you are one of the truthful.’"
The Quran presents different accounts regarding the singular response given by Lot's people to his warnings. Certain verses state that their only response was to threaten or demand Lot's expulsion from the town, whereas another verse asserts that their only response was to challenge him to bring about God's punishment.
