72.21 – Surely I possess no power over you, either for harm or for right (guidance)
The tasks of the messenger in this sūra are prayer (v. 20) and proclamation (v. 23). This verse specifies that his role does not include exercising power over others. The sūra even says that Allah assigns two watchers to the messenger to make sure he proclaims the message (vv. 27–28).
