81.19 – Surely it is indeed the word of an honorable messenger
A series of oaths (vv. 15–18) introduces the claim that the recitation is the word of an honorable messenger, one full of power and to be obeyed (vv. 19–21) – and not the word of an accursed satan (v. 25). If a human messenger is intended here, this would correspond to how many non-Muslims view the Quran. In Muslim tradition, however, the messenger is understood to be Gabriel.
