The Quran’s emphasis on justice in the marketplace (see 83.1–6) has been a benefit to shoppers in souk and bazaar throughout Islamic history.

83.1 – Woe to the defrauders
Those who cheat others instead of giving the full measure will one day “stand before the Lord of the worlds” (v. 6). Their deeds are recorded, they will be judged on this basis, and they will burn (v. 16).
